A note about the archive index containing all lessons I have posted on this blog since its inception in 2019.   An index for  all lessons  posted from 2019 through 2021 , was published on  September 7, 2022. An index for all lessons posted in 2022 , was published   J anuary 24, 2023. An index for all of 2023 was posted on January 16. 2024. Each index lists lesson titles and the dates each one was posted, so that you can study subjects that we have written about. In 2023, the Lord added 10 new nations to the blog, bringing the total readership to more than 150 nations. Would you please pray with me, that the Lord will keep drawing people from all around the world, to read His Word?  Would you pray with me, that the Lord will save many souls through this blog?  Would you pray with me that the Spirit of God will revive all weak, afflicted, oppressed or burdened souls, who read God's Word on the blog? False teachers promise liberty but enslave people to heresy. 2 Peter 2:19  While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.  False teachers were spreading heresy. For example, Gnostics said you had to seek a secret, higher knowledge to go with scripture.  They said that since your physical body was corrupt, it did not matter if you sinned or not. False teaching like this is of course, sharply contradicted by the scriptures. God does care very much about how a Christian lives.  He gave us more than 1,200 imperatives in the New Testament that instruct us about living for His glory. We need this frame of reference, in order to grasp what Peter teaches as he brings chapter two to a close. Avoid the pollution of false teachers by studying God's Word.   2 Peter 2:20  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they

Peter's second letter to the churches began by extolling the Lord Jesus Christ and the inspired Word of God.  It helps us to remember these truths as we study his warnings about false teachers who promote heresy. The Glory of Christ and God's Word is superior to pagan myths.   2 Peter 1:16-18  For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  17)  For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  18)  And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  The gospel of Jesus Christ stands in stark contrast to pagan mythologies. The archive index for 2023 was posted on January 16, 2024.   The apostle Peter, guided by the Holy Spirit, has had very strong words to say about false teachers and those who profess faith in Christ, but live for self. He also speaks about looming judgment from God upon unruly, ungovernable sinners who pose a threat to family and society. These sinners walk after the flesh and follow the corrupt desires of their own hearts. They give themselves wholly to the fleshly lust in their minds. They refuse to submit to God's authority, and will never bring every thought to the obedience of Christ
