1 Peter Chapter 1 Pt. 1 Wonderful Truths To Encourage Our Hearts.

Image
We are entering Thanksgiving week and yesterday I posted where you can find the indexes to all the archives since this blog began, in 2019.  I highlighted where you can find Thanksgiving posts, hoping that the lessons will be a blessing in our homes, for this day that is set aside to praise and thank God, for who He is and all that He does for us. I also encourage you to leave comments about what you have learned, and how God is working in your life, through these Bible studies. All praise and glory and honor be to God. I want to study through the letters of First and Second Peter. This apostle has much to say to us and we will find this study to be a rich blessing. Peter was blessed with insight about the deity of Christ.  Mat 16:13-19  When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?  14)  And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias...

How To Find Archive Indexs For The Bible Study Blog. Have A Blessed Thanksgiving Week!

Good morning to all of you on this Lord's Day.  Thanksgiving Day is rapidly approaching and I want to share where you can find indexes to all the years of this blog. I also note what minths Thanksgiving lessons were published. Most public school systems in America no longer teach the truth about this day, about the Pilgrims and Puritans who sacrificed everything in order to worship God according to His Word.  These lessons contain good resources to teach these truths to those whom we love. I hope and pray that these lessons are a blessing to you and your family. In Christ's love, Bob A note about the archives containing all lessons I have posted on this blog.   The index for  all lessons  posted from 2019 through 2021, were posted on September 7, 2022. The index for all lessons posted in 2022, was posted January 24, 2023. Each index lists the lesson titles and the dates each one was posted, so that you can study subjects that we have written about. A note about ...

A note about Thanksgiving . I posted a series of lessons on the topic of thanksgiving from a Biblical perspective in November, 2022. In November, 2021, I posted a series of lessons about the Pilgrims and Puritans, and Thanksgiving's origins in America. Please use these for devotional material in your homes and with your families, neighbors and friends.  Praying for ALL believers to live for God's glory. 1 John 5:16-17  If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pr...

1 John Chapter 5 Pt. 3 Encouragement From The Word & Confidence in Christ When We pray.

Image
The apostle John was guided by the Spirit of God to include much assurance for the believer in Christ.  Assurance of the sufficiency of the work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  Assurance of the sufficiency of the Word of God.  Assurance of the sufficiency of the indwelling Spirit of God. Assurance of having eternal life through repentant faith in Christ. Believing on Jesus and receiving full assurance.  KJV 1 John 5:13  These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  This particular text brings us face to face with another omission found in many modern Bibles. The last 13 words of this verse are often deleted.  ESV 1 John 5:13  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life .   In addition to the ESV, the NASB, NIV, N...

1 John Chapter 5 Pt. 2 Listening To God's Witness About His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Spirit bears witness that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:6  This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.  The Spirit of God guided John to forcefully defend the deity of Jesus Christ. Jesus was attested to be the Son of God and promised Messiah by water at His baptism.  John tells us that the Spirit of God came down from heaven upon him, and the voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  Jesus Christ came also by blood. He shed His blood for the sins of the world, and this was in accordance with all that the prophets had written concerning Him.  John declared that the Spirit witnessed that Jesus Christ came not only by baptism in water but with blood.  Jesus was baptized in the waters of the Jordan river by John the Baptist. Then, Jesus baptized others in His own name that they mi...

1 John Chapter 5 Pt. 1 Those Who Love God Love Each Other

Image
When we know God, we will love other Christians.  1 John 5:1  Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. The first word of the last chapter in John's letter to the churches, is a word of beauty and wonder.  "Whosoever" is a word that reminds us of the universal invitation from God to every person, to repent of sin and be born again. "Whosoever" reminds us that God did indeed love the world, to the point that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. John 3:15-16  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   The word "Whosoever" reminds us that God promises to grant eternal life to all who hear the gospel and believe on Jesus Christ.  John tells us that whosoever believes th...

Every Good And Perfect Gift Pt. 6 The Feast Of Trumpets

Image
Good morning... This link will take you to the YouTube channel of Heritage Baptist Church, my home church. This is a link to Part 6 of a series of Sunday School lessons I am currently teaching, under the title of "Every Good And Perfect Gift.' This lesson looks at the Feat of Trumpets in the Old Testament.  It reminds us to keep the Sabbath Day holy.  It reminds us that God used trumpets to announce the giving of His law at Mount Sinai.  It reminds us that God used trumpets to call His people to assemble together. We learned that God will use a trumpet to announce that Jesus Christ is coming to take His church home one day, at the rapture.  We learned that one day, God will use a trumpet to announce that the end has come and final judgment is coming. Finally, the Feast of Trumpets reminds us to be thankful to God for His many blessings. I hope that this will bless each one of you who are able to view it. Bob
