I must apologize because I got behind in posting the YouTube links for Pastor Alvis's Sunday and midweek sermons.  This post has the sermon livestream links for May and June. Psalm 119:30  I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. We have studied the first part of this text and we now turn our attention to the last part of the verse. When we have chosen the way of truth, and made the ways of God our heart's desire, we must keep the rules of the way of truth ever before us.  The word "judgments" refers to the precepts and directions given by God in His Word. Colossians 1:24-26  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:  25)  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;  26)  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:  The apostle Paul firmly established the preeminence of Jesus Christ because Gnostics were promoting secret knowledge and were adding things to Jesus Christ's redemptive work.  We learned in the last few posts that all things we need are given to us in the work and Person of Jesus Christ. There is no need for secret knowledge or for some rigid law keeping to ensure salvation.  Our salvation is entirely the grace work of God and reflects His great mercy and love for those who trust Him. There is one true religion.  All other forms of religion are the false ways of lying, the Devil's counterfeit religions that are intended to entrap and deceive mankind. Colossians 1:25  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;  We left off with this text in our last post and it is part of the final paragraph of Colossians 1. Therefore, it is connected to the verses that follow which is why I included it here. Paul was an apostle wholly dedicated to loving and serving His Lord Jesus Christ.
