The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt 33 The 7th Trumpet: God Lays Claim to What is His!

Image
Praise God that He is moving all things forward according to His perfect will and timing. We are given the privilege of looking into the Bible and see what God says about the End Times. This study is for our edification and encouragement so that we are equipped to tell others the certain doom and destruction that is coming and to point them to Jesus Christ, the Savior, Creator, King and Judge. Please share these studies with your family and friends and pray that God will speak to all of us through His mighty Word! The 7th Trumpet is blown! Revelation 11:15  And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.  John heard the 7th Trumpet sound. We will not read about the full result of what will happen when this trumpet sounds until Revelation 16. There are some other things that will happen when the blowing of this tru...

Pastor Alvis Sunday Sermon November 29, 2020 "Give Me Jesus"

Image
Good morning to everyone on this Lord's Day.  I have attached the link to my pastor's sermon for today. We will gather to worship and hear this sermon in about 1 1/2 hours from now.  Please pray for the Word of God to have "free course" as Pastor preaches and as this blog goes out into the world. May the Spirit of God have His way with our hearts today and may Jesus Christ be praised! Bob 2 Thessalonians 3:1  Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt. 32 The 2 Witnesses are Murdered and Resurrected!

Image
Remember that John was given a reed that was like a rod so that he could perform certain measurements. It is helpful to know that many times when we see a rod mentioned in scripture, it means that God is going to resume His dealings with the nation Israel (Jeremiah 31:38-39; Zechariah 2). A rod is also used for chastening and judgment of God's people or His enemies (Psalm 2:9) and it is used to comfort the people of God (Psalm 23:4).  Thus, in Revelation 11 we see that God will judge both His people and His enemies and that He will make good on all His promises to His people. The future of each believer is secure in Christ and bright with hope. The Two Witnesses Finish Their Work and are Martyred. Revelation 11:7-8  And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.  8) And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spir...

The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt. 31 Two Witnesses with Great Power Serve God in Jerusalem

Image
In this post we are introduced to the "two witnesses." We will see that they operate very much like one of the Old Testament prophets. Remember, that God previously sealed 144,000 servants who will go around the world preaching the gospel. Therefore, the ministry of these two men must be different to some degree. Two Witnesses will prophesy for 1,260 days. Revelation 11:3  And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.   The two witnesses are introduced without much fanfare. God is still speaking and He states that He will empower the two witnesses and they are going to prophesy. He has also set the limits of their ministry at 1,260 days which represents 3 1/2 years of ministry.  We have judgments for 3 1/2 years, the 144,000 serving God for 3 1/2 years and these witnesses prophesying for 3 1/2 years. Rebellion against God and idolatry will erupt during the latter...

The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt. 30 God Measures His Possessions and Gives us Hope!

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday that is almost ignored in America. Yet, for the born again Christian, every day should be filled with thanksgiving for all that God has done for us through His Son, Jesus Christ. The basis of our thanksgiving and joy is the works and the Person of Jesus Christ. Consider the following text from Ephesians and may the inspired words fill your heart with thanksgiving this morning. In the words of that hymn, we should "Count Your Blessings!" Be thankful for all the Spiritual Blessings we have in Christ. Ephesians 1:3-6  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  6) To the p...

The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt 29 Sealed Words, Sovereign God & Salvation's Glory!!

Image
Thanksgiving week is upon us and I suggest that you go into the archive to November 25 & 26, 2019, for three lessons on Thanksgiving. I believe that they will encourage all of us today as we face unprecedented challenges.  John told to seal the words of the 7 thunders. Revelation 10:4  And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  John told us that he heard the voices of the seven thunders and he prepared to write the words that he heard them say. However, a voice from heaven called out to John and told him not to write down those specific things. Rather, he was to seal those sayings up. The book of Revelation is about the unveiling of the End Times and especially, of our All Glorious Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, there are some future things that God has reserved and this is why John was not permitted to record them....

The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt. 28 A Mighty Angel & the Unseen Spiritual Warfare.

Image
The 6th Trumpet sounded in our last post and we saw that four fallen angels will lead a massive army of demonic creatures who are going to kill 1/3 of the world's surviving population at that point in time.  Revelation 9 ended with God graciously granting all mankind an opportunity to repent of their idolatry, murder, fornications and wickedness but they will stubbornly refuse to repent and turn from sin to embrace the Holy God of heaven.  Revelation 10 contains another parenthesis or pause between judgments. This interval in heaven seems to coincide with the space of time on earth for men to repent. Like the last interlude between judgments, this is an even more sobering view of heaven and the throne of God. A Mighty Angel with a Little Book Revelation 10:1-3  And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:  2) And he had in hi...
