In this lesson from Nehemiah chapter 9, we see that joyous celebrations gave way to sober repentance.
We saw how Israel's problems began when they yielded up pursuit of holiness.
We were reminded that obedience to God's Word is always the path to blessing and happiness, but disobedience is the path to misery and hardship.
We saw that reading the law of God produced the fruit of repentance.
The people heard the word of God because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
They stood and confessed their sins to God just as we should do.
They cried out to God in dependency because only God can deal with our sin.
They were strengthened by remembering that God will always keep His promises.
The people committed themselves to practice Biblical separation from all cultural corruption and all spiritual corruption.
We learned to come humble into the presence of the LORD...
Trusting His promises
Confessing our sins
Seeking restoration and reviving
With fresh commitment to obey His Word.
I know the livestream of this Sunday school lesson will bless all who can view it.
