Nehemiah Part 11 Gathering Together To Hear From Jehovah.

We move into Nehemiah 8 and Ezra comes back on the scene. 

First, we see that the Spirit of God moved in the hearts of those who were redeemed to unite them to act as one man. 

It was a voluntary assembly of a united people who wanted to hear God's Word.

They met next to the Water gate and this location reminds us of how God describes His Word like rainfall, snow, and water.

This pictures God's Word as rain that nurtures and sustains life. God's Word enters our heart to transform and change us.

We are cleansed by the washing of water by the Word of God. 

We saw that there was (and is) a great need for faithful men of God to teach and preach the Word.

The priests were commanded to teach the law to God's people and Ezra's spiritual qualifications were impeccable.

We learned that God invites us to drink deeply at the pure fountain of His Word.

We are invited to:

Walk on the path of blessing as we take in the scriptures. 

For fresh cleansings when we stumble or fail God.

For spiritual renewing of our mind and revival of our spirit as needed.

To discover the source of worship material.

Walk in the light of His glorious Word.

I know the livestream will be a blessing to all who are able to view it.
