The Link below will take you the the YouTube channel of Heritage Baptist Church where my wife and I attend.

Pastor Alvis has given me the great blessing and responsibility to teach the adult Sunday school class.

We have been making our way through the Book of Ezra.

In this lesson, we saw Ezra's contrite and humble spirit after learning about Israel's sin of marrying pagan wives.

He was devasted to discover that God's people had corrupted themselves and he fasted, wept, pulled out his hair and tore his garments.

The people coming to the evening sacrifice saw this and the Spirit of God convicted them of their sin.

Ezra knew that Jehovah was the singular source of grace, mercy and forgiveness and he earnestly sought this for the people he loved.

Those who stilled feared the Lord and trembled at His Word committed to do what was right in the sight of God.

We learned that godly sorrow for sin leads to repentance and deliverance from God.

It is a sorrow toward God because we have sinned against Him and brought dishonor to His holy name.

The sorrow Paul speaks of is not a sorrow because one was caught in sin. That is the sorrow of the world.

There is a call for each generation to separate themselves from the world and the profane, unclean things of the world.

We saw that humility and contrition precede revival from God.

I hope this livestream will be a blessing to all who can view it.

Bob
