We are working our way through the book of Ezra in Sunday school. This lesson begins with seeing how God answered the prayers and fasting of Ezra.

He granted the Jews a safe journey and we noted how Ezra was careful to avoid the appearance of evil by entrusting the gold, silver and brass to priests and Levites.

He faithfully discharged his duties in bringing more priests, Levites, porters, along with the precious metals to Jerusalem.

Next, Ezra was made aware of a sin issue that had been going on for some time, involving intermarrying with people God told them to to marry.

We looked at the clear command from Jehovah about this issue.

We looked at how ignoring God's command led King Solomon astray.

We looked at the Psalmist's lament over Israel intermarrying and committing child sacrifice.

We looked at the fresh cleansing from this very sin and a period of reviving from Jehovah that happened not that many years before Ezra came to Jerusalem.

Ezra had only been in Jerusalem a few days before the princes of the Jews made him aware of this terrible issue. He was perplexed, afflicted and astonished.

We ended up by noting that there is always hope for those who tremble (have fear, respect and reverence for) at God's Word.

The link below will take you to the livestream. I hope it is a blessing to all who are able to view it.
