An index for all lessons posted in 2022, was published January 24, 2023.

An index for all lessons posted in 2023 was posted on February 28, 2024.

Each index lists lesson titles and the date each one was posted, so that you can study subjects that we have written about.

The link below will take you the YouTube channel of the church I attend, Heritage Baptist Church in Smithville Ohio.

Pastor Alvis asked me last year it I would teach the adult Sunday school class for this year.

We have looked at the Good And Perfect Gift of His Word and are now looking at how the Spirit of God ministers in our hearts with the Word of God.

This lesson seeks to answer the question "What is my part in Bible study?"

We are not passive participants when we open our Bible to read it, seeking to understand what God says to us.

When we begin to study God's Word we must:

Commit our heart and soul to Jesus Christ, because having a new spirit and a new heart is necessary.

Have a strong conviction knowing that God speaks to us through His eternal Word.

Ask the Lord for an abiding passion, His transforming work and fresh zeal as we study the Word.

Be ready to obey what God says to us in His Word because obedience is the path to blessing and happiness.

Be persistent in studying the scriptures because putting in the effort leads to living for God’s glory.

We must be engaged with the Holy Spirit's ministry with the Word in our hearts.

Basic essentials include having a quite place to study with good lighting. We need a good Bible and a concordance.

Of course, these resources are usually available in digital format at no cost.

One resource that I use frequently is "e-sword." It offers the KJV Bible, Strong's concordance, Hebrew and Greek lexicons and commentaries such as the Puritan Matthew Henry.

I hope and pray that the Sunday school lessons are a blessing to you.

Bob
