Jesus Is Coming Again! Pt. 1 Introduction
Good morning to all of our Readers. Some of the most beautiful Ohio spring weather is upon us and the explosion of beauty is a vivid testimony to God our Creator.
I am introducing a second series of lessons. It is a lot more work for me to teach two different topics at once time, but it is certainly a labor of love for me to do so.
I ask that you will pray for the Spirit of God to guide me, teach me and direct my thoughts, in sharing these wonderful truths with you.
I ask that you pray for the Lord to strengthen me, as I study and prepare each lesson.
We face a powerful enemy, and he is going to resist these lessons, as he always does. But we can do all things through Christ and when each post is published, God will bless His Word as it goes forth (Isaiah 55)!
One final note.
I have posted more than 1,800 lessons on this blog. You will find the archive index for years 2019 through 2021 posted on 9/7/2022. The index to all posts for 2022 was published on January 24, 2023.
These are resources to help you navigate through the archives to find lessons on books or topics from the Bible.
The Romans Chapter #1 world is erupting with ferocious speed.
Romans 1:26-32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29) Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30) Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31) Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32) Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
In case you have not observed it, the entire world system is imploding. Hatred and depravity is exploding and contaminating all the God ordained institutions of society (government, education, religion, economy and family life).
Those who promote sexual perversion do not want to retain any knowledge of the One, True God of Heaven. This is why Christians and Pastors are under attack when they simply preach and teach what God says about human sexuality.
God alone can tell us what is right and wrong and people need to know what God has to say. His eternal moral standard will be the measuring stick used at judgment day.
In addition, millions of innocent babies are killed by abortion each year, all around the world. God takes note of their murder and will hold people accountable at the day of final judgment.
Many nations are recklessly spending money they do not have and many are hopelessly buried in debt. It is simply a matter of time before the world economies collapse and a central, global government takes control of everything and everyone.
This news should not take us by surprise, for the prophets of God spoke about these things a long time ago. Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation in particular, give much detail about what is going to happen.
The godly Christian will suffer as things wax worse.
2 Timothy 3:12-13 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13) But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
The world is waxing worse and worse, just as God said it would. Christians and the Christian faith are coming under relentless attack.
Believers who seek to honor God by how they live, and raise their children, face hostility and criticism. In some places, they are brutally attacked or severely shunned.
Within the church of Jesus Christ, it seems that there are more and more false teachers who capture vast numbers of adherents with false teaching.
We must keep praying for our leaders to be saved.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God's will is for all men to be saved. The gospel of Jesus Christ is exclusive, in that Jesus, the Son of God, is the only savior, the only door to enter heaven, the only perfect sacrifice for sin.
Many believers refuse to pray for the civil leaders, yet God commands us to pray for them, without regard to their politics. We are to pray for their souls, that they might hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Do not allow yourself to hate someone because they do not agree with your political views. Remember, God wants them to be saved too.
Only one way of salvation, only one Savior of mankind.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is only one way of salvation, and that is through repentant faith in Jesus Christ. This is why the Devil attacks the authority of God's Word and why he attacks the deity of Jesus Christ. He does not want people to believe and be born again.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
There is only one name given under heaven among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
God will keep His promise and sinners will be judged.
2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
The only reason that Christians are still on this planet, is that God is still saving people. He will save all those who repent and turn from their sins, to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
God wants all humanity to be born again, but He will not make any man repent and trust Christ. You must exercise your will and choose Jesus Christ as you Savior and King and Master.
That great day of final judgment will come when the Father says it is time for it to be done.
Thoughts to Ponder...
I shared these truths with you to help prepare us for studying about the return of Jesus Christ.
Here is the focus I am going to have. I want us to see how the New Testament church viewed the second coming of Jesus Christ.
We will begin in the book of Acts, and follow all the texts in sequential order through the books of the New Testament.
Many churches seem unconcerned about the return of Christ or how this truth is supposed to impact how we live.
We need to make sure that our understanding of the scriptures, align with the whole entire New Testament, regarding Jesus' return.
We need to make sure we teach this truth accurately in our homes, and that we attend a Bible believing church that stands unapologetically upon the Word of God.
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
May the words of our Lord Jesus Christ comfort us, as we seek to live for His glory in a world filled with hatred. Jesus is presently preparing a home in heaven, for each born again believer.
Notice what Jesus said. "I will come again and receive you unto myself." This is a secure and sure promise from the Son of God. He is going to come again and all believers in Christ will be taken home to heaven. Are you ready?
Bob
