Can I Know The Will Of God? Pt. 34 Praising Him & Pray For Judgment

God's will? That His children praise Him with all our hearts.

Psalm 9:1,2  I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. 2)  I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

Jesus rebuked the worldly church at Laodicea for being lukewarm. God detests our efforts to serve Him if we are only going through the motions of serving and loving Him.

We cannot fool God, for He sees our hearts and knows when our worship is tepid or when our service is halfhearted, at best.

Thus, we are called to praise Jehovah with our whole hearts engaged. This means that our minds, hearts and souls are focused upon our wonderful God, not upon ourselves. This is a challenge for believers because we naturally want to focus on what is going on in our lives.

The Psalmist tells us what it will look like when we worship Jehovah with our whole heart.

We will be enthralled with His mighty works of creation and filled with joy because He sustains all life.

We will be sobered by learning about the fall of man into sin, and the consequences of Adam's failure. Yet, we will be rejoicing that Jehovah came to earth in the Person of Jesus Christ, in order to save us from our sins.

Our hearts will be full of glad thoughts about our God and our inner man will be rejoicing in His goodness and mercy.

Singing and praises will start to flow forth from us when we worship God with all of our being. This is the place of spiritual blessing and this is why it is God's will that we worship Him with our whole heart.

God's will? Judging the world in truth and righteousness.

Psalm 9:7,8  But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment. 8)  And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

I do not have to tell you how bad the world is today. The information age spreads detailed accounts of the depraved activities mankind commits, all day long. It is bad and God told us it will wax worse and worse and the end draws near and His judgment day approaches.

Therefore, Jehovah's throne is established for judgment and He is going to judge all people according to His eternal standard of righteousness.

He will give all the saints who placed their trust in Him, the blessings of their eternal reward.

However, He will measure out eternal condemnation and punishment in Hell to all who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ.

It is going to get so bad, that Jesus asked the question of His disciples, "When the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on earth?" (Luke 18:8).

Remember that each church is filled with wheat,  (which refers to Spirit regenerated Christians) and tares,  (which are unbelievers) who attend church (See Matthew 13:24-30).

Terrible times are emerging right now!

2 Timothy 4:3,4  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4)  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Paul reminds us that the church is going fall into apostasy and grave error (2 Thessalonians 2:3). This connects with his admonition to Timothy to faithfully preach the scriptures even if people resist the truth.

Sound doctrine will be rejected in favor of listening to seducing spirits and Satanic teaching. People around the world will turn away from God's truth and embrace lies and myths.

The church is headed down this path now as more and more pastors refuse to preach against the sins that are flagrantly celebrated by our culture. They are failing in their pastoral duties by not warning people that God will judge all people by His holy law. Period!

There will be no exceptions and those who are unsaved, will be eternally condemned. Those who are born again, have had their sins judged in Christ on the cross and will receive eternal life with God in heaven.

God's will is to shelter those who put their trust in Him.

Psalm 9:9-11  The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10)  And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. 11)  Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

Jehovah is a multifaceted God. He provides a place of shelter from the storms in our lives and He offers a safe shelter to us. A "refuge" is like a high, inaccessible and secure place where the enemy cannot assail us.

Jehovah will care for the oppressed, people like the poor, the widows, and the orphans. They have a special place in the heart of God and His holy law included provision for their physical needs.

We are living in times of trouble and they are going to worsen. Jehovah is the safe place for believers and we may run to Him for protection and deliverance.  He never forgets those who trust Him. He never loses sight of where we are and what we are facing. He is a good, loving, caring Shepherd for the sheep of His pasture.

No matter how bad the world becomes and no matter how severe our problems may seem, we can find shelter and refuge in Jehovah. Because of this blessed assurance, believers in Christ can sing in the face of adversity because our hope is in Jehovah, not in the things of this world.

God's will is to bring final judgment on the wicked. They will not escape.

Psalm 9:16,17  The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. 17)  The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Believers can find comfort knowing that when Jesus returns, He will set all things right. He will hold every wicked person to account for their sins.

Notice verse 17, for it describes what is happening in America and many other nations. All nations that forget Jehovah is God, or who turn away from His righteous standards, will be turned into Hell. What a sobering thought, as we see this evil transformation happening right now.

God's will is for believers to be faithful witnesses and to pray for His judgment to come.

Psalm 9:19,20  Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight. 20)  Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

We must pray that we can share the gospel with people who do not know Christ. We must pray for courage to share this life changing Truth. We must also pray that Jehovah will come and will bring that final judgment.

May He find us faithful until He returns to earth and may His judgment be swift and complete.
