The End Times as God Reveals Them Pt 33 The 7th Trumpet: God Lays Claim to What is His!
Praise God that He is moving all things forward according to His perfect will and timing. We are given the privilege of looking into the Bible and see what God says about the End Times. This study is for our edification and encouragement so that we are equipped to tell others the certain doom and destruction that is coming and to point them to Jesus Christ, the Savior, Creator, King and Judge. Please share these studies with your family and friends and pray that God will speak to all of us through His mighty Word!
The 7th Trumpet is blown!
Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
John heard the 7th Trumpet sound. We will not read about the full result of what will happen when this trumpet sounds until Revelation 16. There are some other things that will happen when the blowing of this trumpet and the judgments that will follow. The 7th Trumpet will include all 7 of the bowl judgments that follow. It will span all the way to Christ returning as King and Judge in Revelation 19 through to Revelation 21 and eternity.
There were great voices in heaven saying that the Kingdoms of the world are formally taken away from the devil and given to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Glorious Lord will reign forever in Sovereign power and authority.
It is important to note the contrast between opening the 7th seal which was followed by 30 minutes of silence in heaven, and the 7th trumpet sounding which was followed by great voices in heaven that are jubilant.
Many prophets foretold the future reign of Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel 21:26-27 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high. 27) I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.
Ezekiel said that the crown will be stripped from the usurpers to the throne of David. Only Jesus Christ the Messiah has the right to this throne. The Father will overturn the Anti-Christ in judgment and give that throne to His Son.
Daniel 7:13-14 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14) And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel's vision included a glimpse of Jehovah on the throne, the Ancient of Days (The Father) and the Son of man (Jesus Christ). Jesus will be given dominion, glory and a kingdom. All people and nations will serve Him. His rule is an eternal one and His kingdom is everlasting.
Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
Zechariah also prophesied that Jehovah will be king over all the earth. Idolatry will be vanquished forever. The name "Jesus" means "Jehovah is savior."
These are some of the Old Testament texts that look forward to the future kingdom of Jesus Christ.
All of Creation belongs to God.
Psalm 24:1-2 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2) For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
What belongs to God? The earth and everything that it contains, and all people. God created it all, He governs it with His power.
Psalm 50:10-12 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. 11) I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. 12) If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
All animal life belongs to God. He gives life to all living things and He sustains all life as He provides sustenance.
These texts are just a few that make it very clear who owns all things. It all belongs to our Creator.
Colossians 1:12-18 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Notice what Paul says in this glory filled doxology of praise. We give thanks to our Father in heaven because He made us "meet" or right to be citizens of heaven. His power wrested us out of the grip of the devil and carried us safely into the heavenly kingdom of Christ. All this is made possible because of the blood of Jesus that paid for the sins of all mankind.
The "invisible things" of creation testify of God.
Jesus is the image of God and by Him all things were created whether visible or invisible things. We all know what the "visible" things are that Christ created but what about the "invisible things?"
Romans 1:18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
The "invisible things" of creation are vitally important to life and without them we simply could not exist. What can be empirically known of God is revealed to men. These things are evident to all and plainly understood because God helps us understand them. The problem is that the unbelieving man often rejects the Creator and embraces the idea of a random, purposeless existence of all things. God's wrath is against those who deny His truth.
Paul said that the invisible things of God connected to creation are clearly seen and understood when examining the things that are visible. God says the evidence from creation is so powerful that on this basis of understanding alone, men are without excuse for seeking to know God.
There are many aspects to the invisible things of creation but the most prominent would be the laws of physics. Gravity, inertia, centrifugal force, the second law of thermodynamics, the strong and weak nuclear forces to name just a few. Each of these invisible things have a measurable and repeatable impact upon all created things.
This is why the earth spins on its axis at 1,000 miles per hour while at the same time traveling through space at about 67,000 miles per hour in it's orbit around the sun. The sun is moving through space at 514,500 miles per hour. Then factor in the remaining planets in our solar system each with its own rotation speed and own orbit around the sun. It is easy to see why evolution simply cannot account for all these large scale variables.
There are many excellent books written about the various "invisible" things of God and the testimony the invisible things provide is, quite frankly, overpowering and astonishing. (A good resource is the Institute for Creation Research. They publish scientific, scholarly materials as well as books for school age children.)
Christ, the Son of God upholds all creation and He is the sole Heir!
Hebrew 1:1-3 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
The book of Hebrews begins by reminding us that God spoke to mankind through His prophets and that in the last days (End Times) spoke to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Notice what the text says. Jesus Christ is the heir to all things and that includes things visible and invisible, things in heaven, in earth or under the earth, and all the universe.
The idea of Christ inheriting all things is what the 7th Trumpet communicates to us. God alone has ownership and power with binding legal authority to claim all creation, the earth and all that is in it. This is why the loud voice from heaven cries out that the world and all its kingdoms now belong to Christ Jesus. God is taking what is His and the devil is powerless to do anything about it.
Thoughts to Ponder...
When the 7th trumpet is sounded, all heaven will be announcing His claim to all things in heaven and on earth. Jesus will return with power and great glory as King and Judge over all. Are you ready to stand before the King of kings and Lord of lords at that great and fearsome day of the LORD?
The church will have been home in heaven for 7 years prior to Christ's return as the Judge and king. All born again believers will have given an account to Christ at His "Bema" seat in heaven, a judgment of reward or loss of reward for each one of us (Romans 14:10-12). They will have experienced the resurrection of life and the marriage supper of the Lamb. They will be rejoicing in His presence.
However when Christ comes to conclude the 7 years of tribulation, this will bring the resurrection of damnation (John 5) where all unbelieving rebels will be judged by the evil works of their hands and be eternally condemned.
Which resurrection will you take part in? The choice is yours to make. You can repent, confess your sins to God and turn to Christ in faith, believing what the scripture says about Him for salvation and receive eternal life.
Or, you can stay just as you are and face the Lord of glory and hear Him say "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:30).
